Online Safety Information For Credit Cards

June 12th, 2008 KennethWade Posted in Marriage No Comments »

Everyone likes to pull out that flashy silver and black card that shows their status in society. Even though the name suggests only a millionaire can have one, they’re actually not that hard to get. The 2 main things that have to be done are improving your credit score and establishing credit.

Your FICO, or Fair Isaac Corporation score should be around 600+ to qualify for a good card. The companies aren’t looking so much for high salary as much as they are looking for a good stable paying history. After all, this is where they make their money. Someone who carries a balance and pays more than the minimum payment is more valuable than someone who doesn’t let interest accrue. So the best thing you can do is add a couple dollars to your minimum payment on your current card and do this consistently over the course of a year. Every time you do this, the credit card company reports this to FICO and your score increases a small amount. You can check your credit score in the main menu of your online account. If you don’t have any cards yet you can check it on different programs online through a search for free credit report.

Establishing credit is also important. I would suggest getting a fair credit credit card to start with to build your credit. The interest rates can be kind of high and the limits are low but it doesn’t take long for the larger cards to see your record and start sending you offers. Even though it can be tempting to use your entire limit, I would also suggest you only use about 30 percent of the starter card to keep your revolving credit low. This is the amount that someone owes which is also something the card companies track.

If you can do these 2 simple things, it should take you no time at all to get your score up and qualify for a good card. I have included a link to a site which offers a good fair credit card to start with if you have been denied a platinum offer. There are also some very good offers for those with established credit histories. The main thing I always look for is annual fee’s. A good offer will usually have an interest rate of 10% or below with no annual fee’s. Another thing I check for are the rewards. I think gas rebates are an excellent benefit due to the increase in recent gas prices. You can use your card for gas purchases you have to make either way and then get cah back, so it is a no lose situation. The bottom line on getting the card you need though is to keep balances low and payments high and you’ll qualify for almost any card available.

The Legendary Style of Grace Kelly’s Wedding

June 12th, 2008 BridgetMora Posted in Marriage No Comments »

If you are looking for inspiration for your wedding, nothing could be better than the fabulous nuptials of international style icon Grace Kelly. Her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco was watched by thirty million viewers on television, all eager to see the exquisite couture gown that Miss Kelly would wear down the aisle. They were not disappointed – the long sleeved lace gown made fashion and wedding history as one of the most elegant bridal gowns of all time. It became an instant classic.

Princess Grace’s gown was a gift from MGM Studios. It consisted of 25 yards of silk taffeta and 100 yards of silk net, peau de soie, tulle, and 125 year old Belgian rose point lace. She wore a Juliet cap embellished with seed pearls and orange blossoms, and was the picture of poise and, yes, grace. It took 36 seamstresses to create Grace Kelly’s incredible bridal gown. With its’ fitted bodice and full skirt, the gown was au courant in 1956, and remains the pinnacle of timeless good taste today.

Many brides adore Grace Kelly’s divine style, and would love to add a sprinkle of her graciousness to their own wedding. Even if you are not able to afford a couture gown, and your fiance is a prince only in your eyes, there are ways to indulge your royal wedding fantasies without a royal wedding budget. Simply let the principles of elegance, timeless beauty, and high fashion guide you as you plan your wedding.

Because Grace Kelly was known above all for her cool beauty and impeccable taste, the bridal ensemble will be very important to a bride trying to emulate her style. Look for a wedding gown with classic lines. To reassure the people of Monaco that she would be a proper princess, not a flashy Hollywood actress, Miss Kelly chose to wear a gown with very demure styling. Today’s brides may prefer a more open neckline, but for a cool weather wedding, lace long sleeves like the princess wore would be truly lovely. Alternatively, you could choose a strapless gown and wear a fitted lace jacket or shrug over it for the ceremony. This would be especially nice if your ceremony will be held in a house of worship, to show respect for religious customs. There is something refreshing about showing less, rather than more, skin.

Brides have always loved pearls, and Grace Kelly was no exception. Her bridal ensemble was decorated with hundreds of handsewn seed pearls. In addition, Prince Rainier presented her with a spectacular diamond and pearl bridal jewelry set from Van Cleef & Arpel as a wedding gift. To achieve similar elegance on a more affordable scale, choose handcrafted pearl bridal jewelry accented with Swarovski crystals. Select classic pieces such as pearl and crystal drop earrings and strands for timeless beauty.

Pregnant Bride Attire

June 12th, 2008 BridgetMora Posted in Marriage No Comments »

Gone are the days when women who found themselves “in a family” way had shotgun weddings or lied about their child’s birthdate to conceal the date of his conception. There are plenty of pregnant brides now who do not feel like they have to rush the wedding or hide their condition. In fact, brides who are expecting are so common that some designers even offer maternity bridal gowns in their collections. Never the less, it is challenging for a pregnant woman to find well-fitting clothing under any circumstances, and the pressure is so much greater when you will be the center of attention.

The first thing that any pregnant bride must do is accept the reality of her situation. Unlike other brides, you will not be able to starve yourself or wear binding undergarments to squeeze into slinky gowns, so put the idea out of your head. And no matter how slim a woman may be, she is fooling herself if she thinks that her figure won’t dramatically change. This means forget about a strapless dress, because before too long, your waist will be larger than your bust, and the gown will slip down. The good news is that a pregnant bride can still find styles that will be comfortable without giving up on style.

Many women think that empire waist dresses are the only option for maternity bridal gowns, but this is not the case. In fact, having a long, full dress dropping from a seam above the belly tends to make a pregnant bride look as big as a house. Surprisingly, drop waist gowns are often the most flattering cut to the “bump”. Because they are fitted through the torso, they are actually more slimming without being restrictive. The key is to find a bridal shop with a very skilled seamstress who can customize the gown to fit an ever changing figure.

And for goodness sake, be honest with the bridal salon when you are ordering your gown. I have seen brides who were uncomfortable telling a stranger about their pregnancy, but if the shop is not informed, there is no chance that your gown will fit by the time that it arrives. Besides shape and size, embellishments are something to consider carefully in a maternity gown. Having some special detail makes a bride feel prettier, but be sure to avoid embroidery or beadwork that wraps over seams on the bodice – by the time the gown has been altered to fit a pregnant tummy, those seams will no loner line up.

The great thing about bridal jewelry, veils, and headpieces is that they always fit. Women who are pregnant during the wedding planning process tend to feel self-conscious about their changing figures, so choosing fabulous accessories can be very uplifting. Today, it is considered fine for a pregnant bride to wear white if she wants to, and she should also feel free to wear a bridal veil. Since it will be most practical to keep the gown simple, the accessories are the place for a bride to be as elaborate as she wants. For instance, it would be fabulous to have custom bridal jewelry handcrafted to coordinate with the wedding gown. Jewelry can be made to flatter the woman just like a gown can. If your face has gotten puffy, choose long Swarovski crystal drop earrings for their lengthening effect. A drop necklace is a great idea to accent the lovely cleavage that all pregnant women seem to acquire. The idea is to design custom bridal jewelry to highlight your best features, just any any bride would.

Some of the sweetest brides I have known have been the pregnant ones. Although their major life events were not in the sequence that they would have planned, they still made beautiful, radiant brides. The combination of the glow of an expectant mother with the radiance that all engaged women exude made for some very lovely brides.

Wedding Stationery: Some Considerations

June 10th, 2008 TMLung Posted in Marriage No Comments »

You need to spend quite a lot of time to plan for your wedding stationery. This is because they are very important in your wedding. In most cases, you will need to think about your wedding invitation, RSVP card, thank you card, table place card and so on.

Of all the above stated items, the wedding invitation may probably be the most important. This is because the invitation will give your guests the first impression of your wedding. You can try to start doing your research on the internet. Google and Yahoo are always your friends when you are searching on the web. You will be able to find various options and designs in different online shops. One of the advantages of searching in online shops is that you do not need to visit the shops physically and this will certainly save you a lot of time.

In order to save some time, you may also want to order your stationery online. However, you should not just order time. It can be very risky. You should never order something you have never seen the real thing. As a result, you should try to order a sample before you make your actual order. Remember, you should not just trust the images you see on the websites since they can be sometimes very misleading. And this is why it is a must for you to order a sample before you make your actual order.

As a matter of fact, you need to have a main theme for your wedding stationery. Most couples will try to design their stationery in a way that all the items will match their wedding theme. You may also consider doing it in this way. On the other hand, there are also people who believe that the wedding stationery should reflect the personalities of the couple and it is not really necessary for the stationery to match the wedding theme. As you may probably understand, this is not a question of right or wrong. It is just a matter of preference. As a result, you can make your decision solely upon your preference.

It is also very common for couples to think of the choice of customizing the wedding stationery. There are a lot of designers who are specialized in wedding stationery design. They should be able to help you to make your wedding stationery more special and unique. You may also try to design it yourself. Of course it may take you quite some time to do so if you are not a professional designer. But at the end of the day this will make your wedding stationery more meaningfully since all the items are designed by you!

You may want to search for some budget choices if you do not want to spend too much on your stationery. A piece of good news is that a budget choice does not mean that the stationery will be of bad design. There are a lot of inexpensive designs which are of high quality. Yet you may need to take some time to search for it!

How to Save a Marriage - Should a Couple Separate to Save Marriage?

June 8th, 2008 SteveGee Posted in Marriage No Comments »

Staying together didn’t help me save my marriage

Staying together with your spouse for the sake of the children or just in the hope that your relationship gets better, rarely works if you’re trying to save your marriage and avoid divorce. Sooner or later you will most likely end up splitting up so is there another way that might be more effective?

Everyone tells you that you should talk to your partner, listen to what they are telling you then change your behaviour to put right all of your faults. If both of you really work at doing this then your marriage will be solved right? Well probably not.

What if your spouse doesn’t want to save your marriage?

Conventional advice is only likely to work if both you and your partner really want to avoid divorce. Unfortunately this isn’t often the case. More often than not one of you wants to save the relationship but the other one just wants to get out as soon as they can. You can’t hope to work together towards a reconciliation under these circumstances because it simply won’t work.

Pleading and promising to change isn’t going to work either because this just makes you look weak and needy and quite frankly, pathetic. All you will succeed in doing is pushing your partner away quicker than if you did nothing.

How to save your marriage by having a good time

Instead of trying to push yourself onto your partner and killing your relationship by smothering it you could try separation instead. At first sight this sounds like an odd thing to do. How do you end up staying together by separating? Well believe it or not it can work and it might save your marriage even if your spouse doesn’t want it to.

Separating does two things. Straight away your partner will start to realize exactly what she or he will be missing if your relationship ends. If you’ve always been a loving partner and good provider then these qualities in you will be missed immediately. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side is it?

When your spouse sees you having a good time without her she may start to remember why you got together in the first place. This is where you have to concentrate on saving your marriage by just being yourself away from you spouse and make sure that she knows what you’re doing. The more she sees you enjoying yourself and not needing her the more attractive you will become to her. You might even find that your spouse starts trying to save your marriage all by herself, even if she didn’t want to in the first place.

You don’t have to move out

You don’t actually need to be apart physically to have a separation. In fact it helps if you don’t because it will be easier for your spouse to see you being yourself. Tell your partner that you know that she wants a divorce and that you are going to start living your life the way you want to. Let her see you coming home late from the office and starting to date new people. You can even discuss your dates with her and ask her advice on how you can make a good impression. This is sure to get her thinking.

The results from this strategy might surprise you. Lets face it, your marriage was going to end in divorce anyway right, so what have you got to lose? By showing your partner that you don’t need them you will be making yourself more attractive to them and maybe they will start to reconsider what it is that they really want.

What to Look For in a Wedding Videographer!

June 7th, 2008 JuhlinYoulein Posted in Marriage No Comments »

Have you chosen a Professional Wedding Videographer yet for your Wedding? Finding a Professional one can be difficult and perplexing.

Your special day is coming up very fast! And really the last thing you need to fret about is whether or not you have hired the right Professional Wedding Videographer to capture the memories of your Wedding day.

First, start out by checking out their website and watching some of their demos. If they have no demos available to view online that is a BIG red flag! Only choose a Professional Wedding Videographer who has demos on their website. That is very important! This allows you to see what the Videographers style is!

Make sure that your Professional Wedding Videographer makes your DVD with DVD authoring. If your Videographer provides this service, the final film of your Wedding day should look like a Hollywood Style film with menus and chapters. This is a lot more than just transferring footage to DVD and takes a lot more time; so make sure that your Videographer does this. It takes it from home-style movie to Hollywood Style! This is also very important!

Here are a few other questions you should ask yourself when choosing your Professional Wedding Videographer:

1. Is the Wedding Videographer knowledgeable?

2. Is the Wedding Videographer professional?

3. Was the Wedding Videographer able to answer your all your questions and did they answer you back (if conversing in email) in a timely manner (This will show their level of Professionalism)?

4. And most importantly; does the Wedding Videographers services validate their product(s)?

If the Wedding Videographer is professional then they should be accustomed with all the Wedding Industries products and terminology.

The Wedding Videographer should also be able to explain in detail the services they are providing for you and your Spouse on your Wedding day.

If the Wedding Videographer doesn’t have enough demos on their website to satisfy you, then ask them to mail you another demo to watch at home. Most professional Wedding Videographers will be happy to accommodate you and send you one free of charge.

If the Wedding Videographer has enough to watch on their website then make to watch them thoroughly online and remember these key things:

1) Web quality is always worse than what your Wedding day DVD will be. This is because websites with videos are made specifically for allowing the video to download quickly for the viewer. Because of this, the quality of the video must go down in order for the downloading speed on the Internet to be fast. So don’t judge the clarity by the online footage. If you want to see an example of how clear your film will look just ask the Wedding Videographer to send you a demo and that will allow you to really see the clarity and the quality.

2) Was the camera person/ Wedding Videographer creative with their shots and were they steady? Watch for that, creativity is key to having a beautiful Wedding DVD!

3) Sound quality of the songs. Did everything sound good?

4) Color, was the color vibrant. This will tell you if the camcorder that the Wedding Videographer is using is good quality or not!

Another thing to consider is making sure that the Wedding Videographer offers for you to call at a later date and request additional copies. If they say “Yes!” that is a good sign, meaning that they achieve all their footage properly and this will also show their Professionalism!

Everyone’s Wedding day is so different and unique! It is a once in a life time moment that can never be repeated or recaptured so make sure when choosing your Wedding Videographer you only go for the best! Don’t get a cheap service because in the end, that’s what your film will be, cheap. Don’t cut corners! Your Wedding day is special and deserves that best of the best. You want to remember is always in beautiful clarity! Good luck on planning your wonderful Wedding day!

You Need to Consider These For Your Wedding Transportation

June 7th, 2008 TMLung Posted in Marriage No Comments »

It is very important for you to plan ahead for your wedding transportation. In fact, you have to do with carefully. There are cases that the vehicles do not show up on the wedding day. The conditions of the vehicles are also very important. You may not want to get a car which is very old. Besides these, there are also a lot of other considerations. This article will give you some tips for you when you are planning for your wedding transportation.

The first thing you need to do is of course to search for some vendors. Reputation should be the first thing you have to consider when you are searching for a wedding transportation vendor. To this end you will need to ask for the opinions of your friends who got married. They will certainly give you very valuable advices. Alternatively, you can also ask on your online forums about wedding. The members of the forums, who are most likely people who are going to get married, will be more than happy to help you and answer your questions.

There are a lot of couples who would like to save some time and try to hire a vendor on the web. However, this should be totally avoided. This is because some of the vendors on the web do not own their own vehicles. The are running the business in the form of affiliates, which means that they will refer your order to companies who have their own vehicles.

To this end you will understand that it can be very risky to hire a wedding transportation vendor on the web. The problem here is that you have nearly no control on the quality of the services. It will just ruin your perfectly planned big day if the vehicle does not show up on your wedding day.

You need to order as soon as you have made your final decision on your wedding transportation vendor. If it is possible, you should try to do it half year before your big day. If you are planning to have your wedding on a popular day, you will need to place your order even earlier. As a matter of fact, it is very popular for couples to have their weddings on Saturdays.

It is also very important to list every detail in the contract when you place your order. It is important to make everything black and white. Some of the things that should be list are the third party insurance, penalties if the car does not show up etc.

You will also need to plan the routes carefully with the vendor. In most cases, you will be arriving the venue of your wedding at least 30 minutes before. It is also very essential to discuss with the vendor how it will be arranged if the car break down when you are traveling to the venue. You will also ask clearly about how the drivers will dress up. It can be always good to discuss with the vendor beforehand if you have any special requirements for that.

Etiquette For Wedding Invitation - Seating Plan Etiquette For Your Wedding

June 7th, 2008 MaryA Posted in Marriage No Comments »

Now that you have planned a beautiful reception that everyone will enjoy as they help you celebrate the happiest time of your life, the next step is to make the seating arrangements. You should seat everyone correctly so that you do not violate seating plan etiquette by seating someone where they are not supposed to be. Planning seating can be quite a task if you are planning a big wedding. Of course this is not true of small weddings. If your guest list is indeed large, you may want to buy some computer software that will help you arrange and rearrange your seating chart without too much of a problem. Using post-it notes will work well for small wedding but is quite inconvenient if the reception will be large.

Begin with the head table, which is the easiest. The head table is long and straight and is placed in at the front of the reception space. It is obviously arranged so that it is facing the wedding guests. The bride and groom take their seats at the center of the table. Wedding etiquette allows for flexibility when it comes to if the bride should be seated on the right hand side or the left hand side.

The bride’s parents are seated next to the bride and they can sit in any order. If parents are remarried, this will be a complication. You may want to have them sit at a different table and have your bridal attendants sit in their place. The bride’s maid of honor should be seated after her parents. These tips go for the groom’s parents as well if there has been a remarriage and the former spouses cannot get along.

Another easy table is the kids table. Older children do not have to sit with their parents. They will even feel important. There should be no problems if they know they will be seated with other children. They will enjoy it! Seating plan etiquette lets this table be placed where adults will not want to be seated. Seating children near speakers would be just perfect.

After you have planned out the seating for the head table and kids table, seating plans get a little more difficult and complicated. It is best to attempt to keep people that know each other together at the same table if that is possible. Co-workers will probably feel more comfortable sitting with each other if they do not know your family well. Seating plan etiquette suggests that you should try to keep people of similar age groups together if you need to seat them with people that they may not know. Another good tip is to try to balance the number of males and females at a table. Try to keep the numbers even.

You should consider particular circumstances when you are seating certain guests. Senior citizens, small children and women who are pregnant may need to be placed near the restrooms. If any of your guests have a disability, keep this in mind as well. Those giving a toast should be placed near the front of the room while exes should be kept as far away from each other as possible if they don’t get along with each other.

It is a good idea to have a seating chart near the entrance of the reception hall so that your guests can find their seats. You might want to use a map of numbered tables so that it is easier for them to know where they should sit. Every table in your reception hall should have a number placed in the center. Place cards should be put at each seat and legible if you have assigned seats. Seating plan etiquette lets you just assign a table if that is what you prefer.

With a few seating plan etiquette tips you will hopefully be able to plan the best seating plan for your wedding.
